Mastering banana nut bread!

I haven't done a recipe post since my healthy bride blog! This was exciting to me because I FINALLY mastered banana bread! I've tried various recipes and ingredients and this batch was by far....the biggest hit in my household! My son and husband loved it and I even made an exrta loaf for my parent's house to enjoy.

I like to tweak recipes to benefit health and I made one alteration that I'm very proud of in this recipe.

My son's craft paper was all I had handy at the time. LOL! If you can't read the bottom, it says:

1. In a medium bowl, mix your whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinammon.

2. In a large bowl, mix the sugar, coconut oil, egg whites, mashed bananas, milk, and vanilla.

3. Then, mix in the flour mix. Slowly mix in the chocolate chips.

4. Place in your 9x5 loaf pans and bake for 50 mins at 350 degrees.

ENJOY!

Instead of canola oil, I like to use extra virgin coconut oil. It's very heart healthy and gives the bread a little more sweetness. I can't get enough of this stuff! I use it in my stirfries, spread it like butter on my toast, or anywhere butter or oil is needed. For this recipe, I used a whole cup of it.

Hey y'all! Back with a quick post. I've been super uninspired with my manis lately. Maybe it's because I have two kids and can barely find time to even brush my hair! Lol. I've been loving glitter lately and did a quick mani over the weekend with a Sally Hansen taupey grey and OPI glitter.

Also, my CrossFit speed rope needed a makeover so I glitter-fied it as well! Lol. Now, there's no question as to which rope is mine at the gym!

Weight loss update

Hi everyone! I'm back with a fitness update. I've been LITERALLY working my ass off in the gym and I'm finally seeing the results! I failed to take a before picture and my measurements. I wish I did, so that I could see what I've done. The scale hasn't moved like I should it would but my clothes are fitting pretty well and my new-found strength is impressive! I can do pushups again! WHOO HOO!

Crossfit has really changed my life for the better. Although I haven't ran in a while, my cardio and endurance level is still the same and when I do run, I can run for a long time. My legs are a lot stronger and my recovery time is a lot shorter due to all the squat movements I've been doing. I'm VERY much on my way to getting my sexy back by March for Camryn's baptism.

This was a couple of months back when I did the front squat for the first time. Since this pic was taken, I've PR'd (personal record) at 53kgs or 117lbs. I started at 35 kgs in this pic.

Sweat angels are always made at the gym! LOL. It was suprising to see my ass like this.

The left side was me on 8/2/2011 and the right was taken on 12/10/2011. My daughter was born on 7/22/2011 and since that day, I've lost a good 50 lbs. I still have a lot of work to do, but it's amazing to see how you're progressing visually.

The Christmas weekend threw me off a bit, but I'm ready and willing to get back to work! This is the WOD (workout of the day):

Beauty Resolutions

Morning everyone! Happy manic monday. This past weekend was family fun-filled because my older brother got married! I'll post pics of that in my next post. I saw this idea on another blog and thought I'd share my New Year's beauty resolutions:

I vow to:

Clean my brushes every other week.

Stop buying makeup that is dupable in my own stash.

Stop buying "wants" and only buy staples.

Only blowdry my hair when absolutely necessary.

Smile more.

Deep condition my hair once or twice a week.

Wear my retainer everyday.

Paint my nails more.

Moisturize my hands feet more.

Actually WEAR my perfumes.

Use an eye cream.

Biore strip my nose monthly.

Stop peeling skin off my lips.

Wear more accessories.

Wear high heels more.

Throw out old makeup.

Be better about putting my lashes back in the case after wearing them.

Finally make my appt for lazer hair removal on the underarms.

Happy Monday folks! I wanted to share something that I've been struggling with as of late. ORGANIZATION! After having two kids, and accumulating a bunch of stuff through the years, I've been on the hunt for tools to keep things clean and tidy. One major area is my closet. I like to hang almost everything and my closet filled up quickly with all of my hangers. I saw a commercial for the wonder hanger and knew it would be a great solution.

I bought mine at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with 20% off coupons. I believe they came in packs of 5. They're awesome! I have about 5 times the space in my closet and I can see everything! The only downfall is that you can't really hang super heavy items on it because they will warp and stretch over time. I had a hanger of 5 blazers and they didn't hold very well. But other than that, they are perfect for those who have enough clothes to fill a walk in closet...without the walk in closet!

Makeover Shoot with FrockLA

OH MONDAY, no one likes you. This weekend has been crazy! We're moving into our new house and it has not been fun, at all. I didn't realize how much crap we've accumulated over the last 3 years! I wanted to share something really fun with you guys. In the past, I've blogged about my friend's clothing line, FrockLA. Its sustainable jersey pieces that are all made in the beautiful USA. I went to one of their fashion shows when I was pregnant and fell in love with the cuts and the simplicity of their pieces. Ian and Victoria are the founders and are sooooo sweet to have included me in their "real women" makeover photoshoot.

The fashionable founders wanted to prove that real women could wear their clothes. Sure, one who'd just had a baby would shy away from their tight fitting jersey dresses, but I have to tell you, I felt so comfortable and secure in the dress I was in. It was also very cool to see my face and my statements on the website, FrockLA.com. Check it out!

I wore the Abby backless maxi dress with the Lynn floor length cardigan. It was sooooooo comfortable! The pics above are a before and after shot. I was able to move pretty freely in this dress and still manage to chase Noelan around.

Hot Tranny Mess

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great week so far. Mine is.....EH. I'm back to work this week and its pretty bittersweet. It's nice to be around adults again but I miss my babies! Back to work, Thanksgiving, AND we're moving to a 3 bedroom house this weekend! PHEW! I hope I survive this week.

Anywho, this past weekend was special because it was my sister-in-law's bachelorette party. She and my older brother are getting married on 12/10, and the girls went to AsiaSF, which is famous for their drag shows. I would share some pics with you all but they are not PG rated...at all! LOL. So I will share what I can. She wanted all attendants in all black and wigs, which was a lot of fun. I went to a beauty supply store and got mine and I loved the style. It was a bob in the back and longer in the front. I really want to cut my hair like that...but not as long in the front.

I was particularly excited because I was able to do my makeup. I probably only wore makeup once a week while on my leave. On to the pics!

I decided to do the shadow box technique because it always looks dramatic and it's super fast to do. On my lips, I work MAC's Cranapple liner with a Wet N Wild lippie.

SO Lil' Kim right? LOL.

My sis in law, Tenise. I did her makeup. She was a gold goddess aka Beyonce! LOL.

I tried some Kiss brand nail stickers out. They lasted really well and were super cute. I was able to peel them off yesterday and had some residual glue on my nails but they were super easy. The rhinestones were kind of a pain in the arse so I think I'll try just a regular color next time.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone! This isn't a beauty related post but I thought I'd share what the Hunt family has been up to the last two weeks of this beautiful Fall month. I've been trying to enjoy the last few weeks of my maternity leave and needless to say, I've been spending time every waking minute with my kids and husband. Halloween has gotten even more fun since having a 2nd child (let alone a baby girl!) and now that we're moving into a house, I get to decorate for holidays! I'm SO excited to have the space and not worry about my crazy 3 year old disturbing our neighbors below us in our complex.

Anywho, we've been feeling the Halloween spirit and have done many activities to honor this fun and spooky day. I love that my son is at an age where he understands holidays..it makes it much more fun and rewarding to decorate and go all out!

Ombre Lip Using MAC's So Chaud

Hi everyone! I'm back wit another makeup related post today. Today I'm sharing a look I did to compliment MAC's So Chaud lipstick. So Chaud is an amazing orangey toned red that looks phenomenal on people with yellow undertones. I like to think of it this way....if Ruby Woo and Morange had a lovechild, So Chaud would be it! I created an ombre lip by using MAC's Brick lip liner first and feathered it in. I left the fleshiest part of my lips bare and applied So Chaud. This is a fun look to do with pinks and reds. Be very careful in your color selections so that you avoid looking CHOLA-ish. Have fun with it!

Revolving around lippies!

Hello everyone! I really haven't had too much time to play with makeup, but when I do, I find that I like to choose my lips first then base everything else around them. For instance, I ask myself, "What kind of mood are you in? Bright lip? Muted lip? Pink?" Then I use the color theory to pick what I'd like to wear on my eyes. I've felt really stuck in a rut lately because other than the gym and running, I really don't get anywhere that would merit me painting my face. Plus, I'd break a sweat hauling both kids to the car so it was a waste of foundation.

This weekend was an exception. I've had MAC's Morange lipstick for quite some time now and just built up the courage to wear it. Morange is an amplified creme that goes on very smoothly and pigmented. It has a creamy finish and is super vibrant. I wish I actually rocked it in the summer. I don't know if I can pull it off much in the fall. Hmmm, maybe with a super fresh and naked face and lashes I can. I'll try that later.

Transforming my body with CrossFit

Happy Monday folks! Today I wanted to share something that means a lot to me. FITNESS. At two weeks post partum, I was running again. It was euphoric. The pavement under my feet felt amazing and it was exhilarating. I ran one mile without stopping and felt great. Everything jiggled for like two weeks, but I kept telling myself that I JUST gave birth and I snapped back to reality.

I wasn't going to lose the 70+ lbs I gained during my pregnancy in two months. I knew I'd have to fight and work to lose this weight. My daughter is now 8 weeks and in back to running up to 5 miles at a time. I feel great endurance-wise but The scale wasn't really moving as quickly as it should or could be with me running at least 13 miles a week. In comes CrossFit.

From Wikipedia:

"CrossFit is a strength and conditioning brand that combines weightlifting, sprinting, gymnastics, powerlifting, kettlebell training, plyometrics, rowing, and medicine ball training.[1] CrossFit contends that a healthy, fit person requires proficiency in each of ten general physical skills: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. In other words, shit's intense. I got a few friends to join with me and although it is a hefty bill every month, it's HARD. But you know how you have that one dreaded task you hate to do but love the results? Like.....waxing the bikini area...hell, brazilian waxing! It hurts so good. I cannot wait to start seeing results.

My workout schedule will be rigorous during my maternity leave:

Monday: fast 1-2 miles or Bikram yoga
Tuesday: CrossFit
Wednesday: 3-4 mile run
Thursday: CrossFit
Friday: 3-4 mile run
Saturday: rest
Sunday: 5-6 mile run

I'd like to keep running as my main form of exercise because it's so easy to do anytime during the day, especially with my kids. I just put them in the stroller and go! Plus, running doesn't cost me anything.

I'll keep updating you guys as I start this journey! We're in our second week and soreness never felt so great!

Candy Colored Leopard Nails

My Friday nights now consist of changing poopy diapers and staying in with my family. I wouldn't have it any other way. My nails needed a little loving tonight and I felt like actually taking the time to do a design. I've found myself just slapping on color as of lately and have been slacking on my nail art. Leopard print is my go-to easy peasy print when I feel like art but don't wanna do too much. I threw in some colors in the print to make it more interesting. Hope you guys like it!

On another note, I have been super busy working on my fitness. I've started a new workout and I'd love to share it with you guys in another post. This mommy is gonna go from just fat, to OH SNAP! Just watch!

Finally Riding the Moroccan Oil Train!

Hi everyone! I'm back with a super quick post while my kids are fed and satisfied....I was able to get away for a little bit! A couple of weeks ago, I was able to get to the salon and actually get a professional haircut. I just had my long layers trimmed and got a really cute bang that I haven't worn down but twice. I'll show you guys pics once I do my makeup, LOL.

When my hair was still damp, and before blowing my hair out, my stylist busted out a product that I've never used before:

It smelled fantastic and cut the blow drying time in half! It protected my hair from the heat of the dryer and straightener and absorbed instantly without feeling greasy. Its amazing for split ends, and prevents color fading. This magical oil is rich in Vtamin E, Omega-9, Omega-6, Linoleic Acid, and Unsaturated Essential Acids. Very beneficial for a dry scalp. Best part of all, it is ALCOHOL FREE! I used to be an avid user of Biosilk but learned that it had alcohol in it, and it actually dried my hair out.

All you need is a dime sized amount in the palm (more for longer hair) and you see and feel the results instantly. I like to concentrate on my ends because they've seen better days.

There was a salon price tag on the bottle my stylist had in the salon of $39.99. She says she got it at CosmoProf for $20 with her discount and I thought I'd look on Amazon when I got home. I got my bottle on Amazon.com for $18 plus shipping! SCHWING!

Hi everyone! I know, I know...where have I been? Welp, I've been loving the life of being a stay at home mom with my little babies! On July 22nd, at 10:57PM, Camryn Elise was born! The labor and delivery was faster than I ever imagined. She wanted out and practically fell out of me. LOL! My labor was about 5 hours from start to finish and I pushed for 7 minutes. I actually got to experience my water breaking too so that was an event in itself. Luckily it happened at home. My son, whom we are potty training, asks in horror, "MOMMY! You peed on da floor??!!" Throughout my contractions, you couldn't help but crack up.

I'm enjoying every minute of being home with them and am dreading going back to work in November. I MAY beg my husband to let me stay home a little longer even though it would be unpaid. I love being a mom and wouldn't have my life any other way. It's the most rewarding gift of my LIFE!

I have a few post ideas, so please bear with me. I've been slacking lately, but in my defense, this little rugrat really doesn't let me have enough time for anything beauty related. I probably paint my face twice a week if I'm lucky.

Candy Yum Yum dupe!

Happy hump day everyone! Today is an exciting day because I have my 39 week check up where my Dr. will also be stripping my membranes. That's a procedure where she manually separates the placenta from the uterus in hopes to speed up labor. I will try ANYTHING to get her out at this point! I'm super nervous because I hear that it's an uncomfortable and even painful in office procedure but it must be done...this little baby is too comfy in there and the temperature is getting hotter and hotter outside!

In other news, I have been searching high and low for a good MAC Candy Yum Yum dupe. As many of you may be full aware, this was one of the hardest limited edition lipsticks to get your paws on and even with my connections at MAC stores, I couldn't get one. I was OBSESSED with finding a dupe so I looked online for the closest thing. My search stopped when I found Barry M 52 in Shocking Pink. It's a UK brand that I've seen around the blogging scene but never thought I could purchase. I looked on Amazon and found it and only paid about $12 plus shipping! It's crazy that Candy Yum Yum is going for about $50 on eBay!

I don't have Candy Yum Yum to do a swatch comparison, but from what I can tell from looking at swatches online, this is the closest match! It's super pigmented and finishes almost matte just as the MAC lippie does and was even cheaper. The lipstick itself is smaller that the MAC tube, but I don't mind at all. I'm just glad I found something comparable!

Freaking amazing isn't it? It's a super neon blue fuchia and I cannot wait to do a look with it!

He's with me all day and when Daddy comes home, he's all about rough housing and jumping off of things because he knows Daddy tolerates it. He was climbing all over Daddy and I tell him, " Leave Daddy alone!" Noelan replies, "NO! He's my best friend!" SWOOOOON!

Minnie Mouse Baby Shower

Hello to all my loyal and new readers! It's always amazing to log on to Blogger and see my number of readers increase. It's so surprising to see that people care to read about my life. If you haven't noticed, I've changed my domain name and layout of my blog. I heading into a different stage of my life and I wanted my blog to reflect that as well. As much as I love the world of makeup and beauty, I really haven't taken any gigs lately so that I could be with my family. I thought that I'd be honest to myself and my readers so I changed it to a lifestyle blog.

Once I have the baby, it will also include my health and fitness side. I CANNOT wait for that. I miss running SO SO SO much.

Hi everyone! Thanks for sticking with with even with the lack of posts. I've just been waiting for baby to come. I'm now 39 weeks! I cannot wait to see her and share a picture with you all! I'm here with a quick nail post. I have been super lazy vanity wise since I've been on maternity leave. I've bought some makeup and have kept them painted, but have been pretty uninspired lately. I decided that I need to keep myself manicured and not be one of those moms that "let's themselves go."

I watched Nicki Minaj's VH1 bio last night and was sooooo intrigued by her makeup looks so I may be playing with makeup soon! There's a mod barbie look in particular that I'd like to tackle. Anywho, here's what I used in my last manicure:

Hello everyone! I know, I know, I've been missing in action! The last few weeks of this pregnancy have been tiring, eventful, but EXCITING! Being a full time working and pregnant mom of a toddler has been exhausting and the last thing I've been thinking about is makeup! LOL.

I have been loving a few items as of lately so I will share them with you later on. For now, I wanted to share a friend's blog post who is actually expecting a week before me. She was my manager at the MAC counter I worked at and she is HILARIOUS!

Well duhhhh! I cant wait for my insides to feel like a wet towel being rinsed out and for my pussy hole to be stretched to the max then ripped open by a human skull! I am most looking forward to bleeding like a murder victim and blood clots the size of naval oranges in my underwear. Oh, and how could I forget the BEST part- shitting and farting uncontrollably in front of nurses and doctors and my husband , all while dripping sweat and my legs pulled so far apart it makes my cellulite look smooth! Joy! I can't fucking wait.

"Are you going to breastfeed?"

How come every time someone asks me this, after I answer they take a quick glance at my chest? You want a sip? If I say "yes," you are going to picture me with my boob out feeding my fetus. If I say "no," you are going to lecture me and interrogate me. Leave me and my tits alone!

"Can you feel him kick?"

I'm 37 weeks pregnant. What the fuck do you think.

"You're having a boy?? Aw, I wanted you to have a girl!"

Well I'm not. I'm having a boy, and I really could give a rats ass what you wanted. Get over it. Go get knocked up and have your own girl. Then I will tell you how much I wanted you to have a boy.

"Your skin is glowing! You have never looked so beautiful."

No, my skin is not glowing, its the ten pounds of bronzer and blush I'm wearing because I haven't seen a tanning bed in nine months. You think I look my BEST now?? Soooo you think I look better fat as fuck, pale, with frizzy hair, wearing over sized clothes and flats? I must be hideous when I am non-pregnant. Gimmie another cookie.

Don't get me wrong, I am VERY excited to have a little one and I have actually had a pretty smooth pregnancy, but come on! Pregnant women are raging with extra hormones, we feel like fat monsters and nothing you say will make us feel pretty right now. Nothing. Just shove cookies down my throat and Ill be happy. Mint Milanos please.

LOL! Isn't she just amazing? She says what all us pregnant women are afraid to say sometimes. I've really enjoyed being pregnant with her. We're constantly texting each other. Who knows? I think my daughter will be early so we MAY deliver at the same time!

I, myself have been hearing the most horrendous and far fetched things while being pregnant. Many are culture related and I must admit, I haven't been the nicest when I hear them. Here are some of the most ridiculous:

1. You shouldn't drink ice water, or your baby will come out.

-This came from many Chinese women I work with and it was SO anoying. Uhm, how is the water going to make me go into labor? I NEED to drink the water so leave me the eff alone!

2. You can't paint your nails.

-This came from my mother and her sisters. Painting my nails and doing my makeup are one of the only things that make me feel pretty. If I'm not supposed to be painting my nails, why is my Dr ALWAYS complimenting me on my manicures when I see her?

3. You must be having a girl because your belly is wide. If you were having a boy, your belly would be pointy.

-This came from a few different cultures. Uhm, first of all, thanks for calling me WIDE. Second, is this a scientific fact that I don't know about? How I carry my baby depends on my insides right? So how is one more pointy than the other?

4. Are you sure you should be driving?

-Isn't it 2011? Are we STILL going thru this? Pregnant women aren't damsels in distress, people! We can do everything you can just with modification. Sure, we need to wear the seatbelt a little lower and near our coochies but we can still function!

5. Not a myth, but I've been told "Awww, your waddle is so cute!"

-BARF. No, my waddle isn't cute. I felt better when I was able to sashay and look really hot doing it. Now, I walk like a penguin and my baby's head is lodged in my pelvic bone. How would you feel if you had a cantalope in your crotch?

I'm just SO anxious to have my daughter in my arms and get my body back. Varacose veins are the devil.

ELF Cosmetics Review

Hello everyone! I was contacted by ELF, Eyes Lip Face, to do a review. I've always seen their products while "getting lost" in the cosmetics section at Target and have been curious about this inexpensive brand. I was super excited about trying a few things out from ELF and the shipping and communication with Jessica, the person who contacted me, was impeccable!

I must admit, I totally forgot about the blotting sheets I bought from ELF a while ago. These were amazing so I guess I wasn't a total newbie to this brand. I got to pick from a couple of bundles and I was really interested in trying out eye products and their HD powder.

Green Fields Eye Shadow Collection in Earthy and Outdoorsy

Earthy is the lighter tone green with gold flecks and Outdoorsy is the darker green with silver flecks. They come in a pair for $5 which a steal. These were the favorite of mine out of the whole batch. They have Vitamins A, B, C, and E in them to hydrate and minimize fine lines. They blended pretty well although there was some fallout, which is standard for loose shadows and pigments. The sifters came in handy so you can just use what you needed. The soft white brush was great as well at sweeping or packing the color on the lid. I actually wet my brush a bit and the pigmentation on the shadows was even more intenisfied.

ELF Studio High Def Powder

This was my second favorite product. It controls shine and oilies and for $6 it's SUCH a bargain compared to the other high definition powders out there. It's extremely lightweight and doesn't settle into any fine lines. It was actually comparable to the Prep+Prime powder that I used to buy from MAC. I'd rather pick this up because of the price point. It's like a makeup photoshop tool!

ELF Studio Matte Eyeshadow

This product got a little tricky. I wore just the Green Fields collection out to get my pedi and lunch with my bestie and when I got home, I decided that I wanted to try the matte eyeshadow out. It is really pigmented but the fallout is BANANAS. Even after I was done with my eyes, I still had to keep taking a wipe to my undereyes because it seemed as though it kept falling out when I blinked. It was so-so to work with and when I went to blend out with my mid tone (MAC's Texture) with a #224 brush, the matte shadow would practically disappear. The look below isn't my best work (I actually didn't even want to post it) because it was so hard to get a clean blend with this shadow. This one was a nice try but there are other black shadows out there with a price of $3.

ELF Essentials Flirty Lash Palette

This is a great value for $3. You get two pairs of lashes. The glittery pair was great in theory but the strip was so thick I had a hard time getting it flushed with my lash line. The second pair shown was very flattering. It reminded me of a longer whispy version of MAC #4 lashes. My only gripe about these was that the strip was so flimsy, it would be nearly impossible to reuse them. Almost immediately after I pulled them off the platform (which wasn't easy) they were a bit wonky and out of shape. They were ultra lightweight and easy to apply but once I removed them, they were done for. I like to get at least 3-4 uses out of my lashes.

ELF Studio Large Brush Holder

OK, I lied twice. I bought this a couple of months ago and it's LOVE! I didn't realize I had this until I was doing my makeup for this review. LOL. Another blogger tweeted about it and it comes in handy! For $15 this beats any other cup type contraptions I've tried in the past. The labeled compartments keep all my brushes separated. Before, I used to have them in a cup and the little eye brushes would get hidden from my larger face brushes and it took FOREVER to find anything. This is amazing!

In conclusion, some products worked and some didn't. For the price point that ELF offers, nothing is off limits. Many things on their website have amazing reviews so I think they're worth a try! Just don't expect department store quality with the prices they have. Have an open mind and play around with it!

DIY Ombre Hair

I'm here with a hair post! Ombre hair has been all the rage for a while now. It's pretty much a gradual color change in the hair from darkest to lightest. Some celebrities rock this look and make it look so fresh and fun so I thought, why not? It's pretty much a style that looks like your roots are grown out.

My hair has lacked character for some time now and since it's growing like crazy thanks to my prenatal vitamins, I wanted to do something super low maintenence. It was super easy to do and I love the gradient of color!

Here are some celeb styles:

To me, the look screams Summer and looks very sunkissed. It looks best wavy or slightly curled because the dimensions of color really shine through. Here's my take on it:

I did my usual medium auburn brown for the base and took a super blonde color for the bottom half of my hair. I plan on doing the lower half again to lighten it up a bit so that it's really light. It turned into a beautiful caramel brown color and I love how it just warms up my skin tone. I love that my hair is so strong right now because of my vitamins so I had NO hair fall out!

Easter Mani

Happy Thursday! I'm here to share a mani with you guys. This was my mani over the Easter holiday weekend. I wanted to so something to match the occasion without actually incorporating Easter eggs. LOL. I really want to master the rose technique so I tried it out! For the base I used Essie's Turqs& Caicos which is a gorgeous minty teal color. It's such a gorgeous color! This was three coats and I could've had this last longer as it started to peel the next day...next time I'll just use two coats. I forgot what the magenta color is called but it was Essie as well.

This is one of my favorite manis to date! It was super easy to do and the roses WILL get better, I promise. I need to practice more but it's hard when you have a toddler running around at your feet. Needless to say, I got this mani done while he was at grandmas. LOL.

On another note, I have changed my domain name and will also be re-vamping my blog. With my family (and belly) growing, I decided that freelance work just isn't in my heart any longer. While my love for all things beauty remain, I'd like to gear my blog to more of a lifestyle feel and feature things that I love at that very moment. You will see some pregnancy fashion, makeup, reviews, manis, my family, and then my fitness after I have the baby.

With my family almost complete, I'd like to really spend these precious moments watching my babies grow. I work an office job from 7am-3:30pm and just want to spend all my free time with my babies :) That's not so say that I'd jump on an opportunity that sounds like fun, it's just that for now, I'm focusing on other things.

My New Makeup Crush: Adele Series

These are just a few lyrics from one of my favorite songs by this soulful artist, "Set Fire to the Rain." Adele has been on the scene for quite some time now with her smash hit a few years ago, "Chasing Pavements." She has topped the charts recently with her new album, 21, and I have been playing this non stop for a couple of months now. She's won numerous Grammys and I've always been in awe of her love of makeup.

She isn't afraid of glam makeup, and favors her gorgeous blue green eyes. She's a fan of dramatic black eyeliner and her looks are never ending, so it was easy to want to do an Adele series as I go to her for some inspiration when I feel stuck in a rut.

Z-Snap for the ZPalette!

Hello everyone! Happy Friday's eve. I'm here today to squeal with delight with my newest toy...or should I say tool? After seeing NessasaryMakeup's (the gorgeous Vanessa) post on the ZPalette I knew I had to have one. My MAC pro palettes have seen better days and after lugging them around from gig to gig the hinges started to fall apart. I also found that they start taking up a lot of space once you have multiple palettes.

These palettes really caught my eye a couple of years ago when I went to the IMATs. They have a magnetic backing that can hold many different shapes of pans. I will surely be depotting a few of my staples and putting them in here. I can't wait to B2M my empties for some new stuff!

I ordered mine from Devucosmetics.com and it shipped out super fast. I was able to use Paypal which is always a plus for me because there is no worry about fraudulent charges. It was only $20 and they have a zebra, leopard, black, and pink palette. They are so cute! The material used reminds me of a child's hardcover book. It's very sturdy and the clear cover is great so you know exactly what is inside the palette. I already started loading mine with my essentials:

I still have so much room in here! I plan on cramming a lot more once I have time to de-pot more things. I'm thinking of depotting some MSF's too :)

I really want more spring-like weather so I hope this helps! I used Essie's Cute as a Button for the base, and a NYC white with my dotting tool for the petals. I mixed MAC's Yellow glitter in with some clear polish for the center of the flowers. It's so girlie and makes me happy!

MAC Superslick Liners are Awesome!

Happy hump day my loves! I'm here with a review today. MAC Superslick eyeliners may have been out a while but they somehow slipped under my radar. I was at my local MAC store a few weeks back chatting with my good friend and MAC artist and stocking up on my staples when I saw these bad boys in the displayer. I had to swatch them and they were so beautiful I had to try a couple out! Needless to say, I will be returning for a few more colors when I can get to the MAC store again!

Here's what they say on the MAC website:

I'm really loving the colored liners and will be back for Smokey Heir, a dark violet with pearl, On the Hunt, a true black, and Definately Feline, a chocolate brown with pearl. The felt tip liner is super easy to work with and you can create a wing in like 4.5 seconds! It dries so quickly so those of use with Asian eyes don't have to worry about it transferring into our creases while waiting for it to dry. You want to use a good eye makeup remover to get them off because they can get tricky. I left the swatches on my hand all day and it took a good loofa scrubbing to get them off. They are totally smudgeproof and water resistant! At $17.50 each, they are totally worth it.

Nail File: Sparkly Leopard

Hello everyone! It's been a long while since I've done a nail post and I wanted to share a quick mani I did a few weeks ago. I took my acrylics off and need to get another set. I think I'm opting for gel the second time around. The acrylics didn't do too much damage because I have insanely strong nails to begin with, but I just hate the dingy look of the acrylic after a while. I had the same set on since my wedding in September and just kept getting fills! They weren't cute.

For this mani I used OPI's Glow Up Already glitter. The pink is Essie's Pink Parka and the black was an Art Deco. It was super simple, but didn't last too long. It started peeling on like the second day! It was super cute while it lasted :)

This was just a super quick post because again, my toddler is sick. Being in daycare is no bueno on his little immune system. I have a review ready for tomorrow so stay tuned lovers!

Tip of the day: Look awake even when not!

Quick post today for my amazing readers. Some days you just feel terrible and don't feel like wearing makeup. We all know what a difference a little concealer and light foundation makes. A good trick I like to use is using a tinted moisturizer and a good concealer. I SWEAR by my Eve Pearl Salmon concealer in Medium. It's super creamy without being creasy and covers like a dream. It was my BFF in my first trimester of my pregnancy and trust me, a little goes a LONG way!

After applying my foundation, I like to dab my concealer on under my eyes and any problem spots I may have at the time. Then, I like to take a tiny bit and put it around the corners of my nose. This tiny trick brightens up the face INSTANTLY.

I love how fresh these lovely celebs look. This fresh glowy look is amazing for the summer months when you don't want your face to melt off. Just a touch of foundie, concealer, a swipe of blush, groom the brows, a coat of mascara, and you're good to go!

I will surely be practicing this minimal look once my little munchkin makes her appearance. Mommy's still gotta look pretty on those diaper runs!

Charity Fashion Show SF 2011

Happy, eerrrr, not-so-happy Monday to you all! This weekend wasn't too fun in my household. We are sick with terrible head and chest colds AGAIN. First it was my two year old, then me, now it's hit Daddy all in the span of about 2 weeks. Now that Daddy has it, it's come around full circle to the tot and myself once again. It's not fun and I find myself scouring stores for Kleenex on sale. Oh, the perils of being a wife and mother. On top of ALL that...PREGNANT! Mommy doesn't get to take drugs, and she never gets to fully rest. Someone always needs me, and now it's my husband. I tell him, "Welcome to my world of sickness and discomfort!" LOL.

My toddler is still in the stage where he's totally OK with using sleeve or even bare arm as a snot rag. It's smeared on his face half the time until I can catch him in the act and we have often referred to the Yo Gabba Gabba song that sings,"We are the tiny ugly germs that will make you sick!" with the creepy little fragments of dirt and ickyness singing the lyrics. He's getting there, but it's been no feat. He still coughs IN his hand as opposed to his elbow and sneezes openly. It's a work in progress. What do you moms do to teach good sickness manners?

Hello my dear readers! My family is just getting over terrible colds and if you've ever been pregnant, you know sneezing and coughing don't go very well with your second trimester. LOL. First it was my two year old, and since he has no regards for germs and I love his sweet little kisses, I was bound to catch it. We're all getting healthy so I'm back to actually wearing makeup! YAY!

First look #36 MAC lashes, Second are Ardell Wispies

These were the nails I wore last week. What a difference dotting tools make! Flowers are so simple with them and I can't wait to play with them again! The green base color is Essie's Going Icognito. Essie is becoming one of my favorite nail polishes and it's great that they are now carrying them at Target, WalMarts, and Walgreens. The formulation is nice and you only need two coats to get a good color payoff.

Wedding Pics and Recreating My Wedding Look

Long time no bloggy bloggy everyone! I forgot how much I love lurking and sharing with you all. The last two weeks have been hectic for me. Between prenatal appointments, a feverish toddler, and the devestation in Japan, blogging had to take the backseat while I took care of some business. I have a first cousin in Japan who was able to get an impromptu flight back to the US for a week so I wanted to spend some time with her before her departure this Wednesday. I'm happy that she is safe and thank my lucky stars that all her mother and sister are as well. Seeing a natural disaster like that really put things into perspective for me. While being pregnant, and witnessing the gasp-inducing images plastered on the news, I was deeply humbled by something bigger than us. There are so many wants and desires in my life and now all I can think of is how healthy safe I want my unborn child and family to be. No makeup, purses, clothing, or any materialistic thing can even compare to that. I hope we can all come together and help out where we can. I pray for the rising number of people lost and their families. I read an article yesterday that funerals are impossible and mourning in Japan is everywhere. I pray that the people of Japan find closure and can rebuild their lives.

I wanted to share my re-created wedding look because it was such a classic. I wanted to look like myself but radiant and it was a no brainer. Do a neutral eye and a pink lip! A few things in my re-creation were altered and I wish I did a frost on the lid instead of matte. For my actual wedding, I did MAC's Blanc Type and for this look I did MAC's All That Glitters. Haux as in the crease, and Embark defined the outer corners of my eyes. For the lips I did MAC's Soar l/l and used a Wet N Wild pink lippie. I actually airbrushed my foundation on my wedding day and in this re-creation, I used MAC's Prolongwear Foundie.

He was amazing and the pictures he edited were beyond what I expected. His price was right and he and his assistant were so helpful throughout the whole day!

Copper Tones with Green Eyes are so cool!

Hello Loves! I'm back with another mani and FOTD post. I did this mani a couple of weeks back when I wanted to play with glitter. This was my first time doing a gradient glitter and I must say....It's a LOT harder than it looks. It takes a lot of trial and error and I found myself having to do one whole hand all over again. It was definately a pain in the rear, but I liked the outcome afterwards and got many compliments. My mother in law even started wearing glitter on her nails :)

The key is to use at least two different glitters. One finer and one with bigger flecks. I used a darker shade of pink on the tips, to give it the darker look at the tip of the nail then put the finer glitter over 1/2 of the nail. Then I took the chunkier glitter and covered the 1/4 of the top of the nail.

Yesterday, my hubby and I wanted to go on a day date so I decided to give my usual FOTD a little oomph. I decided to wear my green circle lenses and play with the color wheel theory a bit. Since the contact were green, I wanted to go with more red tones on the eyes so I wore Coppering on the lid, Haux in the crease, Brown Script in the outer courner, and Ricepaper in the highlight (all MAC). I loved how my eyes looked and I really miss wearing color so I think I may do this combo more!

When wanted to showcase my lid, I sometimes opt to not wear eyeliner on the top and go for dark and full lashes. I went on a Dollar Store haul on Valentine's Day and found lashes that look like generic versions of Ardells. The ones that I'm wearing below have the numberic 43 on them. I don't recall what #43 Ardells look like but for $1, you better believe I stocked up! I love the no liner and lush lashes look with shimmery shades on the lid. I do this often with Smog e/s in my UD Naked palette as well.

Cool Blues and my new HG Eyeliner!

Happy Thursday y'all! It's a great day today because I get to see my girlfriends. We're celebrating two birthdays and I can't wait to chow down at this sushi buffet tonight! These girls have been my main ones since 8th grade. We've seen all of each other's fashion blunders and makeup fiascos. I know I used to LOVE my cornrows with the different color rubberbands to match my outfits. LOL! Oh, and me and my bestie Maegan used to change the laces on our Adida Superstars to match our outfits too! OHHHHH MAAAAH GAHHH, me and these girls are cray cray together! I feel bad for our guys that tag along.

Here is my new favorite pencil liner. It's the Milani Liquif'eye liner in Black. They came in a bronze, brown, and silver. They are metallic liners and the color payoff is unlike any other liner. I swear this formula needs to be in a department store. IT'S THAT GOOD. I wanted to give my liquid a rest and I saw a few other chicks on my Twitter raving about this. It's LOVE!

Hi everyone! I have some exciting news to share with you all. Other than my most recent mani, I want to shout it out on the rooftop....I'M HAVING A GIRL!!!!! My husband and I are through the roof! We're so excited. I get to have the best of both worlds. I feel so complete and content. I knew I would be done with having children after this tough pregnancy, but now that I have my girl, I'm even more content with my decision in stopping after two. Two is a great number. Two college educations, two first cars, two teen attitudes, and two mouths to feed are all we can handle! I was so excited to see that nothing was "hanging out" in the ultrasound. The technician was about 90% sure (I made him put a percentage on his certainty) that it was a female. That was enough for me! As soon as I left the hospital, my brain started ticking and racing with all the cute baby stuff I already wanted to buy. The San Francisco Giants cheer outfit, all the Hello Kitty swag in the world, Juicy Couture outfits, my head was spinning with ideas! I even taught myself how to make a good Giants colored tutu! LOL! This was all in ONE DAY people! Can't you tell I'm stoked!? She's gonna be the princess and my son will happily take the role as my prince. *SIGH, I'm so happy with my life. I have the handsome and amazing husband, my energetic and adorable son, and now a mini-me! All we need now is the white picket fence <3

This is the mani I hooked myself up with over the weekend. I wanted to Konad some bows instead but was having major issues with picking the color up from the plate. It was driving me MAD so I pulled my trusty rhinestone bows out. I really like how it turned out! I swear I pulled the pink bows out subconsiously.

I forget what blue was used as it was a cheapy Jordana blue. It reminds me of denim. The goldish green glitter was OPI's Glow Up Already. The pink bows I bought at Daiso Japan in SF for $1.50! I still have three other colors and so many to use up. Loved that purchase. If you recall, I used the red bows for my Hello Kitty mani.

Whenever someone asked me what I thought I was having I'd say something stupid like, "Human, or dragon (as my son would say.)" I never wanted to jinx myself and get my hopes up but I REALLY wanted a girl. She's going to inherit all my makeup and nail polish! She's already so spoiled <3

Sultry Plum Glamified

Hey everyone! Here to share a look I did a while ago for a wedding. This pretty lady's (who will remain unamed) brother was getting married and contacted me the glam up herself and her mother. I loved the classic loose curls and wanted to do a sultry plum eye. I loved how old Hollywood glam it turned out! I need to do this look on myself!

The main colors were MAC's Shadowy Lady and Seedy Pearl. I love this combo. I forgot what else was used! Yikes...bad blogger, BAD!

I'm having such a great day this Monday! I climbed damn near to the top in my department at work after being at the bottom because of my leave of absense, AND I found out something really exciting! Kerokerokeroppi Nails

Hello Loves! I am back with another nail file. We just got back from Disneyland and I cannot locate my camera anywhere! I'm hoping that it wasn't left behind in Anaheim. Cross your fingers for me! I had a couple of FOTD's in there that I wanted to share with you. Boo..well, maybe it's fate because I've been begging for a new camera for ages. Maybe I'll never "find" it. HEHE.

This was a mani I did a few weeks ago. I thought I'd do a Sanrio series but got bored with it. Keroppi was one of my favorites growing up. I never had one favorite because they were all so adorable! I definately felt a little nostalgia after doing this mani and looking at images online. I remember having stationary, the teeny tiny sticker books, and those little plastic coin purses. Who remembers the cloth drawstring pouches too!? I used to swear those were purses. LOL!

The stripes were a bit sloppy but it was still a cute concept. I thought it was a dope mani but changed it quickly because it didn't go with a lot of my office attire. Super cute for the weekend though! It definately brought me back to my days when I was more carefree.

Neon Black Shatter Mani

I finally got my Katy Perry order in the mail a couple of days ago and couldn't wait to see the amazingness that is Black Shatter. I hurried home, took off my current mani (which I'll share with you later), and painted my nails while my hubby played PS3 and Noelan quietly watched Toy Story 3. I've found that I can only get my mani's done when my guys are distracted. LOL.

I pulled out China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy since I haven't used it and knew that the neon contrast would look killer up against the shatter polish. I used NYC's White for the ring fingers and the tips then used Black Shatter over the white. I LOVED the outcome! Even my husband said,"WHOA" as it dried. LOL. It's soooo cool to see it crack before your eyes!

Please excuse the messy cuticles. I'm terrible at cleaning up afterwards as I am not to patient and would rather the polish just wear off after showering. Isn't it just all kinds of awesome and LOUD?! I found that the thinner the coat, the smaller the crackles. I now want to order ALL the China Glaze Crackles! Ugh. My bank account is gonna hate me.

Cut Crease Birthday Look

I wanted to share a birthday look I did for Hazel Anne. She's come to me a couple of times now and I always love her because she always tells me that she trusts me and to do what I want. LOVE HER! This was a while back and like always, I love glitter on birthday girls! LOL. I pulled out my trusty reflects gold and used a mixing medium to make it stcik on the lid. I really don't remember all the products used on her but they are all easily duped.

The cut crease look is something that I can't master on myself but can easily do on others. I love this technique because it gives Asian women with smaller lids the illusion of having a lot of space to work with. I kept the eyes super glam and did minimum cheeks and lips. LOVE this look!

I finally got my Katy Perry order in yesterday and can't wait to play! Everyone has it on their blogs now so I'll spare you...LOL. Have a great day everyone!

NYX AMAZINGNESS!

Hautelook as done it again with their cosmetic sales! First the Urban Decay blowout and now the imfamous NYX. I was pleasantly suprised with my last NYX haul. The stuff is extremely affordable and pretty good quality. They have a great range of eyeshadow colors to choose from and their concealers are great. I'm really loving their lip products and blushes! I still use my blushes to this day and will continue to do so.

I'm sharing this with all my readers so that I can live vicariously through y'all. While I'd like to indulge in some of the box sets, I can't justify me spending any more of my moola on makeup when we have a Disneyland trip coming up. Plus, I need STRETCHY PANTS! LOL. I can't fit into a lot of my pants comfortably anymore and need some maternity pants before I decide to splurge on anything for my face.

Vidal Sassoon Root Volumizer is Amazing!

Are any of you pros at teasing your hair? Looking for a little volume when you don't want to wear your hair slick straight? Do you have fine hair and envy those with big, sexy, hair? Then this product is for YOU!

If you're like me, and can't tease your hair to save your life, then this is a must buy. I hate having that tangled and overly hairsprayed feeling in my hair. I only wash every other day, so I like to keep my hair products to a minimum. I saw this on Giang's Blog (actual post) and knew I had to try it out. I'm SOOOOOOO happy I did because my hair stays volumized until I wash it. I bought mine on Amazon.com and shipping was super fast. I paid about $15 including shipping.

Here's a picture of the hot iron:

What it does is it leaves a very small crimp at the root of your hair. The key is to leave about an inch worth of hair at the top of your head to cover the crimps. I have pretty thick hair and usually falls flat up top because of the weight. This gave me that extra "oomph" at the root and gave me that "sex hair" look. The photo below is a blurry depiction of what the crimps look like. Be VERY careful not to place the iron directly on the scalp as it gets VERY hot. I only do the crown of my head but I've seen reviews where girls with finer hair do the whole head. I work my way up until I only have about an inch worth of hair left. That should be left to cover up all the crimps.

I really don't agree with the brow bone colors in any of the Wet 'N' Wild palettes except for the Silent Treatment palette. Who wears a frosty pink under the brow? In the green palette, the highlight color is a frosty light green? WTH? I generally would use these colors in the inner corners of the eyes or as a lid color. My browbone color looks too pink for my liking here.

I had a lot of fun wearing the lenses and can't wait to try out the other colors I bought. I have a grey color and a tealish color. My husband said my eyes looked like a "galaxy" with all the different colors. My eyes are naturally a lighter brown so you can see how they showed up on me. They were super comfortable and easy to put on. Shipping was from Canada, I believe, so shipping took a little over a week. They also gave me three lense cases which were pink and cute! I'm very excited that they have a 1 year date of use after opening and a 3 year shelf date. I'm gonna be circle lensed out for a while :)

Hello beauties! I'm here with a fun nail art post. I am an avid Hello Kitty lover and have been wanting to do this mani for the longest time. I had my nails painted red and thought they needed some pizzazz. After a tough day yesterday, I told my husband that I needed some beauty therapy, so I zoned him out and did my nails. To me, doing my nails is almost theraputic. I get to tap into my creative side and have fun.

The Nail Army: OPI in Sweet Dreams (light pink) and OPI in Color So Hot it Berns (Red), Seche Vite Top Coat, the others are cheapies. I also used a fine brush and scotch tape.

I got some cute little rhinestone bows from Daiso Japan. I LOVE that store. I also got a pump dispenser for my acetone that my hubby got to use first since I made him remove the polish from my middle fingers. LOL. I couldn't disturb the polish on my other nails! He was a good sport and even asked, "How yo day is?" in his best asian inspired accent. This is my favorite mani thus far and I can't wait to master roses!

Anything but the Silent Treatment!

Happy Monday everyone! I'm here to share my review and feelings on the new Wet N Wild palette in Silent Treatment. I thought my date night last night would have been the perfect night to try it out. The palette itself is labelled with where they suggest you should use the colors. Out of all 6 of the new palettes, this particular one was getting the most buzz. It's definately the most neutral of the bunch and I noticed that it was the least stocked at my local Walgreens. I picked up the last two..one for me, and one for my bestie!

The browbone color is a frosty champagne pink. In the package, it reminded me of MAC's All That Glitters, but it went on a lot more white on my skin. The eyelid color is like a toned down version of MAC's Satin Taupe with a lot of silver in it. This was definately my least favorite of the three shadows as it was VERY chalky. I had a great base under but I think I'll give this palette another try with a browner base. The crease color was by far my favorite of the three. It was SUPER dark and blended beautifully. It was like if Carbon and Espresso e/s had a baby. The gold shimmer is almost non existent, but I'd rather it not be there. All in all, I feel as if it was a good buy. I only bought three other palettes and I can't wait to try those out as well. The little brush and sponge that came with the palettes made be giggle a bit because they were so nubby! I always just throw them out anyway.

The shirt was from Forever21 and It was so comfy! I saw it online and dreaded going to the store because I hate looking for things but I was lucky and found it within minutes and checked out. The tights are from Target and I must admit, the bang was a bit uncomfortable around my growing belly. I think it's time to invest in some maternity tights soon. This time around, I've found that I've been showing a lot sooner. I'm 13 weeks now and I swear this is what I looked like at 5 months last time! Oh well, I need to enjoy it until all chaos ensues!

My hubby and I had a great time having dinner last night and it was nice to get dolled up again. A wise friend told me to start posting my preggo outfits..what do ya'll think?

The Nail Files: First Attempt at Nail Art

I know, I know, it's still not a makeup post. But I've been thinking of re-vamping my blog into more of a beauty and life chronicle. I'm honestly thinking of taking myself out of the freelance world to focus more on my growing family. It's been an ongoing battle in my head as I love makeup but I feel as if the beauty blogging world has been a great avenue for me to tap into that creative side and passion for all that is cosmetics. My office job is great Mon-Fri and I'd like my weekends to spend with my ever growing family and amazingly supportive husband. If the right gig comes along, so be it. I guess I'll know once I get there.

As I said in my previous post, I've been totally obesessed with nail polish. I put my order in for the Katy Perry collection yesterday and am SO excited to get the Black Shatter crackle polish. I only ended up getting the mini bottles because I wasn't crazy about the new colors but knew I'd regret it if I didn't get to wear them at least a couple of times. China Glaze is coming out with a crackle polish as well. I'm totally slurging on this upcoming collection that launches in February!

Exciting right?! Crackle polish is sooooooo '90s and I can't wait to see this come back. Anywho, I wanted to share my first try at some nail art. I was in the beautifying mood last night and slapped on a sheet mask and decided to paint my nails. It was my first time wearing a sheet mask as well so it was definately a night of trying new things. My two year old was freaked out when I walked out of the bathroom with the mask on and my husband kept calling me Michael Myers. HAHA. My skin felt great afterwards and I'm totally glad I took that time to myself.

I didn't want the flowers to be too pristine and was trying really hard with the white paint. I totally fugged it up so I added more of the darker pink. I like looking at them from far away but I know they are far from good. I want to practice on press-ons like they do at the nail shops. This has become such a fun hobby and I can't wait to try something new!

My Favorites of 2010

Hello my readers! If you are still with me, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've been SUPER MIA lately and have so much to catch you guys up on. I am now a married woman. We tied the knot on September 4, 2010 and I will share a few pictures with you once I get the chance. There is so much that has changed since I've posted. I haven't been doing many makeup gigs lately since I've been so busy. Here are a few highlights of my life since last posting:

1. I am now a proud wifey and my last name has changed :)

2. The San Francisco Giants are WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!3. I'm guessing in all the celebrating, we conceived our baby #2! My little family consists of the biggest Giants fans. Now we will have another to add to the bunch :P Here's my little man all decked out:

As some of you know, with pregnancy sometimes comes the dreaded morning sickness. For those of you who have been pregnant without this dreadful sickness...THANK YOUR LUCKY STARS! With my last pregnancy, I was sick for a couple of weeks then got over it pretty quickly. I remember I was working at MAC at the time so the makeup helped masked my misery a lot! I probably looked fine, but felt like death. This time around, the sickness has hit me 10 fold and I had to take a leave of absence from work for a little over a month! It has not been a pretty sight. I haven't worn a full face of makeup in FOREVER and I feel like I need something to get me inspired again. The only thing I've been keeping up on is my nails :) I can change them quickly without much fuss and I can do it sitting down while resting and watching TV. I haven't done any looks in a while but plan on getting back on track. For the time being, I'd like to share my favorite things from 2010 with you!

The Covergirl Clean pressed oil controlling powder has been amazing to me. I used to set my foundation with MAC's prep+prime translucent powder but it just seemed like my powder brush was eating it up. I was constantly buying new ones for my kit and my personal stash! I decided on a drugstore brand and I bought up all the shades for my kit, and soft honey for my NC40 skin. It gives a light matte finish and controls my oilies. Definately worth the price! It comes with a powder pouf that I throw out and I just use my brush to dust on after applying my foundation and concealer.

Although I still love my MAC Studio Tech foundation, I have grown to love MAC Prolongwear foundation. The coverage is great and it stays on like no other! It feels so much better on the skin than Studio Fix ever did. I feel like my skin can actually breath under there! Have you ever cried and your foundation left that tear-streak thingee? Well, this one actually stayed on! No streaks and no need to reapply!

I've said this before and I'll say it again..THIS CONCEALER IS FRIGGEN MAGICAL! The formula glides on and never creases. The smalled dab will give you the best coverage. After a day of throwing up...this made me look so alive! HAHA.

This palette has been my go-to for a few months now. I'm so happy I got this right before leaving on my honeymoon. It's so versatille, its ridiculous. The looks you can create are endless and I'm constantly suprising myself. LOL. By far, my favorite color of the bunch is Smog. It's beautiful and I'm so happy I got my hands on the pigment from the Hautelook sale! $2?! That should be illegal. The pencil liners are so smooth they go on like butter and the pigmentation is beautiful. Once you get word that they've stocked up somewhere, you should most definately get on it!

This MAC blush was from the Venomous Villans collection. I saw it on one of my old coworkers with olive skin and I knew I had to have it. It's Darkly My Dear and it's everything I wanted Blushbaby to be. Its a plummy mauve shade and looks amazing on the apples of the cheeks or even contoured in the cheek bone. The smallest amount of this blush will give your awesome color. I haven't been into shimmer blushes lately so this has definately been getting a lot of play in my stash.

The EOS lip balms are amazeballs! I only have the summerfruit one (red) and it smells just like lychee. They are super emoillient and they are 100% organic. The little egg shape is super intriguing and even my husband has been sneaking it on. I need to find the honeydew one next because I heard it's the best one! I found mine at Target but I know they are at Walgreens too.

My lovely husband got me the Kindle 3 this year for Christmas. Since I was home for a month, it was definately something that kept me company. Since 12/25, I've already read 3 books! It's definately something all readers should get. They now have another version that you can get that is WIFI+3G capable. I have the WIFI only version because it was cheaper and I'm always somewhere with WIFI. It's super compact and now a staple in my purse so I can read on the train. You can also get your magazines and news on it!

I've been super obsessed with my nails. I change my color every week now and have been having so much fun. I love my China Glaze polishes, but OPI is slowly getting up there. The OPI formula is beautiful and I love all the cream formulas. My collection has definately gotten ridiculous over the holiday season.

I've been loving Toms shoes lately and my husband got me both the glitter pairs I've been wanting! If you buy one pair, Toms Shoes will donate another pair to a child in need. I like to tell myself it's like a BOGO deal :P I have a feeling that I will be getting more colors and will practically live in them throughout my pregnancy. They look cute with everything and the fact that the company is philanthropic is even more satisfying.

My goal for 2011 is to touch bases with all my readers more! I have some goodies coming in and want to stay looking and feeling my best as I carry this new precious life into the world. Stay tuned!

Better than MINX Nails!!!

Hello my peeps! I'm doing a review today on some amazing nails that my good friend put me up on. I LOVE getting my nails done just like any other girl but since having my son and taking my vitamins, my nails grow so quick! It's not worth it for me to get acrylics or gel nails...it makes me so sad because I love changing my nails! So for regular days, I have been loving my China Glaze cream polishes!

So for Vegas, I wanted to go BALLS OUT and do something purty and low maintenence. Check these puppies out:

They are KISS press-ons that are CHROME! I fell in love with the gold color my good friend had one. Since I'm wearing more silver jewelry in Vegas this weekend, I thought these were more appropriate. The application was super easy as it comes with 24 nails in 12 different sizes, a manucure stick, and the glue. Trust me, I will be carrying that glue in my purse in case one decides to pop off in the pool or club! LOL! We can't have that. I didn't push my cuticles back too much but I should have so that they looked more professionally done. I bought them at my trust beauty supply and told the owner he better stock up! They come in gold, siver, and a beautiful metallic red! I love them because you can's see all the nasty bubbles that press ons usually have.

Now it's Vegas time baby! My last party weekend until I'm wifed up! Wish me luck :)

Get Her to the Greek!

Well, well, well..Look who we have here! I'm here with a new post! Things have been SUPER cray cray for me lately with all the wedding planning. Can you believe I only have about 4 weeks till my wedding!? It seems like yesterday I was just sharing my engagement with you all. Time has been flying with everything that's going on and makeup has unfortunately taken the back burner. I haven't hauled, done much makeup, or even touched my blog (duh!). But needless to say, I've been lurking and talking to some of you via Twitter, FB, etc.

This post is for one cool chick. This is a friend of mine, Sofia who may look like a regular blonde gal, but she has some DEEP Greek roots. During her appointment, she was schooling me on how close the Greek community is. The only Greeks I recall were Uncle Jesse from Full House. LOL. She was on her way to her Goddaughter's baptism and it was planned just like a wedding! She had to buy a gown, get her hair done, and she contacted me to hook her makeup up. Here's the look:

Sofia isn't a big wearer of makeup so I made sure I kept it fresh and light. I airbrushed her skin with my OCC foundies and used MAC's Dollymix blush very lightly in her cheeks. On her lips is MAC's Speed Dial lipstick. Her eyes I used a MAC's Satelite Dreams with Shadowy Lady in the outer corners. Of course, MAC's Blacktrack and lashes finished the eyes and made them pop. I loved the look and it looked so fresh against her blonde hair.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share the pics from the wedding I was honored to be a part of a couple of weeks ago. It was so much fun to see all the ladies getting ready. I took some notes and asked a lot of questions to make sure that my wedding goes as smoothly as her's did! Sunshine (bride) was beautiful and I was so excited to be part of her big day. The sweat suits they wore were adorable and everyone was so great and helpful to the bride. They even told me they let her sleep while they finished flowers the night before! Hello my friends! Long time no see! I've let myself get caught up with life and haven't had much time to touch bases with you all. I've finally been in wedding mode these past few weeks and I'm realizing that my wedding really isn't too far away. AHHHHH! Wooooosahhhhh! Ok, I'm good now.

Some of the fun I've been having with planning my wedding is looking for my look for my big day. I've finally finalized my flower colors and they are definitely different from my original colors. It's weird that I've actually changed so much of my original plans...guess my taste has changed a lot since I first started planning :P

Hello everyone! Now that I'm engaged myself, I've been meeting so many blushing brides-to-be. You know that feeling where you don't notice something until you're in that situation yourself? It seems like there are more engaged ladies out there than I ever knew! I LOVE talking weddings and planning with other brides because they always have some bit of info I didn't know. I had a reader contact me because she's the maid-of-honor in her sister's upcoming spring wedding. They were looking for a makeup artist in the Bay Area and she came across my blog. I was so happy to work with another bride! It's such an honor to be part of something so big and memorable.

Krystal, the sis/MOH, contacted me regarding her sister's wedding and I was so happy! I love it when clients find me on my blog. It's great that they get to see my work and it makes meeting them so much more rewarding! They came over Superbowl Sunday and we got down to business right away. Sunshine, the bride to be, had awesome olive skin that we airbrushed OCC's foundie on. Airbrushing is AMAZING on brides because it is so light weight and sticks to the skin as if it were your own skin. The finish is so natural and the coverage is buildable so you can work it out according to your needs or taste. Her colors were purple and fushia and she brought pictures of what she liked. We tried two different eyes, one a bright and funky look, and a more blended and soft purple look. We decided to go with the more blended of the two. Here's the look:

Playing with Wedding Makeup

Hello everyone! With my wedding coming up in September, I've been weighing out my options when it comes to everything. Flowers, caterers, venues, decorations, and fabrics....so many options! One thing that I find myself fantasizing over is my look. I want to take my groom's breath away so I've been scouring the bridal magazines and checking out pictures from red carpets to get ideas for makeup looks.

One thing that is pretty trendy in bridal magazines are blush tones like pinks, mauves, and roses. The always have a pink color on the cheeks and a shade a little more berry than the natural lip color. I thought that I already knew that I wanted to wear a earthy brown tone on the lid, and a bold red lip but I thought it would be fun to try out a bunch of potential wedding looks and share them with you all. It will allow me to be more open minded and explore other options. I have plenty of time to do this and I am so excited to play with my makeup. Although I won't be doing my own makeup that day, I think it will help my artist in knowing exactly what I want.

Hello new and usual followers! I love signing onto Blogger to see I have new friends! *Group Hug* Ok, now that we're more aquainted, lets get on with this wonderful Friday! Hope everyone's week went well. Last week, I did an FOTD using my beloved MAC e/s Prussian. I've always been an advocate of MAC's Matte Squared shadows because of the color payoff and the velvety smooth texture of them. They are the newest formula of MAC shadows and I hope they stay around for a long time!

On a side note, I've been having technical difficulties with my new lil Acer netbook. I'm not too tech savvy and I'm having trouble connecting to the router in my home. Knowing me, it's probably my router's problem more than it is my lil Acer. I bought this Acer in hopes to be a better blogger. I'm on the go often and don't like coming from work where I sit at a desk on a computer all day to my desk at home to sit in front of my iMac. The Acer will allow me to blog on my train, or anywhere else I may be. I vow to keep up with my posts and looks from now on because I've realized that this is something I really love to do and I hate that I've fallen off. I got myself a planner to jot down all my blog ideas and schedules and I want to be a better, more organized blogger and MUA in 2010!

Burning Hot Wide Eyed Look

Happy Monday folks! The monday-itis has hit me HARD today! I couldn't get out of my warm bed..the only thing that got me out today was the money that is out there to be made! Anywho, I have done a few FOTD's this weekend. I decided to get dolled up for my movie date night with my fiance. We saw, "Youth and Revolt," in which Michael Cera was very akwardly funny. He did an amazing job portraying his alter ego, Francois. LOL. You guys should see it if you usually like Michael Cera's comedies.

Here is the look I did from that night. I wore mostly black so I decided to put a pop of color in my crease. I've been wanting to play with my OCC loose colours more so I pulled out Burning..a bright reddish hot pink with subtle shimmer. It was soooooo easy to work with and a little goes such a long way! This would be so gorgeous mixed with gloss! It would definately give your lips a punch! Hmmm..I should do a post on using piggies in glosses. *note to self*

Here's the look! I call it "Wide-Eyed" because of the technique used with the white pencil in the waterline. I lined my lower lash line with a black pencil to open up my eyes a bit and VOILA...instant eye opener. I decided that I need to use MAC's Carbon a lot more. I've been into smokey looks and I am soooo happy I got a new one in my latest Back to MAC binge. I actually have a buttload of recyclables at home and want to get new shadows. Any recommendations on the new launches? I haven't researched any new launches in ages because I'm trying to rack up the dough for the wedding!

My Beauty Must-Haves!

Hello all my readers! And a BIG HELLO to all my new readers! This post is dedicated to all the products that get me looking half decent in a short amount of time. At 5am, you don't have a whole lot of time to look good and refreshed and these products are those that I frequently reach for and am always replacing. I've always been a fan of mixing high and low end products and getting more bang for your buck. I'm beginning to try more things and am discovering that I need to step out of the box sometimes!

NYX Liquid Liner- I hauled my butt off back when they had the 50% off sale and I picked up one in navy blue and black. They are super pigmented and the little brush is very simliar to MAC's #209 liner brush. It's very precise and easy to wing liner with. I actually keep this in my desk at work and do my liner once I get into the office because my eyes water like crazy from waking up early and the cold weather. It was SUPER CHEAP too!

Maybelline Lash Stilletto in Black- This is one of my favorite mascaras right now. The synthetic brush is amazing for my sparse lashes and it gives me great length without clumping. The packaging is really cute and the actual texture of the mascara is super moist...so clumping never really happens!

MAC Studio Tech Foundation-This medium but buildable coverage foundie is my favorite from MAC. It gives you great natural matte coverage. The tri-hybrid formula of water, emoillients, and powder give the skin a very fresh faced look. It's the only foundie by MAC that's self-setting. The packaging is great because it's in a compact and can be applied by sponge...ideal for people on the go! I have these stocked in my kit because you tend to go through these quickly. The water absorbs pretty fast when used with a sponge but I love it so much I don't mind.

MAC Prep+Prime Transparent Powder-This is something that I am LOVING right now. I bought it right when it came out and have bought replacements twice already! My kit cannot go without it and neither can I. In the warmer months, it was the only product that kept my face from looking like I rubbed chicken grease all over it. It really blurs the skin. It's like a photoshop tool without the photoshop! What I like about this kit-wise is that you don't have to match your client's to a colored powder. It looks good on everyone whether your a NC15 or an NW45.

MAC Creamsheen Glass in Boy Bait-This is the best nude ever! I love how these glosses aren't sticky at all. The color is gorgeous and soft. The only down side is that I have to dip the applicator in the gloss like 4 times until I get the color I want. It's not sticky and gooey like the other glossses so I don't care at all. I would, however, use a brush applicator instead of the deer-foot applicator. Maybe that would help the amount of times you have to dip...HMMM.

Johnson and Johnson Baby Lotion-I've been using this since I was little. It's my after-shower moisturizer and I can't live without it. The scent is permanently embedded in my skin. Who doesn't love the smell of babies? It gives me just the right amount of moisture and I've always gotten compliments on how smooth my skin is. The price point is great for this as well. Me and Noelan share this at home :)

Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer and Treatment- The concealer pictured is actually the trio. I have put this in my kit and also bought a single concealer in medium. Why didn't I buy this magical item before?! It's the most amazing concealer I've ever tried. The pigmentation is bananas and the texture is very creamy. Don't be fooled my oily skinned friends, it absorbs like a dream so it doesn't ever feel slick. By nature, the skin around our eyes tends to be drier than the rest of the face and this product is God send. It makes me actually look awake and I can't stop gushing about it! I set this with some powder and I'm good to go! There's a lot of this formula in the little pot so there's a lot to go though.

Bath and Body Works Body Butter in Midnight Pomegranate-I just discovered this. I'm so used to my baby lotion, I forgot about all the amazing moisturizing options out there. Upon shopping for Christmas presents, I came upon my new favorite scent from Bath and Body. It smells great and has just the right amount of sweet, and spices. The texture is amazing and doesn't make your skin all greasy like other body butters. I love this product on the hands and arms.

Have you ever accidentally shaded or filled your eyebrows in too dark? Have you ever just wanted to lighten your brows a bit?

If you have disposable mascara wands, put a little bit of concealer on one and brush it lightly through your brows. They will instantly lighten them or even soften the look of your brow color. Make sure its a VERY small amount or else the brow may look flesh toned.

Good day folks! I'm back with a whole new plan! I may not be posting as often as I used to, but I promise I will try my best to get at least two a week in. This past weekend, we went to a good friend's house for his birthday. Such great authentic Mexican food! I decided to actually do my makeup..hence, an FOTD!

Blues are something that remain neglected in my collection and I've been seeing so many beautiful blue looks lately, I had to try again. I actually really ended up liking the color scheme. I've also been stacking my Ardell lashes. Walmart was having a sale and they were $1 each after Halloween! Wish I would've bought more.

The lid color is MAC's Gorgeous Gold, crease color is NYX's (light frost blue..will put name in when I get home :) ), and the outer corner color is MAC's Prussian (LOVES!). If any of you out there are matte shadow lovers, I suggest getting MAC's Matte Squared shadows from their permanent line. The color payoff is bananas and the texture blends like a dream. I also used a bit of MAC's Texture in the crease to blend. If you want to know about anything else used, holla at a playa!

Happy Friday my peeps! I'm back with a whole new attitude! I've been gone for a while from the blogging scene due to my increase in my workload as well as my insane schedule with working out and all that jazz. I really missed you all so now I'm going to try and post at least twice a week. I plan on getting posts out to all my loyal readers because I love you all so much! I wanted to share the last makeup I did. It was for my younger cousin, Jenella and she was on her way to a wedding. She was wearing neutral colors so she wanted to do a fun smokey eye using colors. I ALWAYS tend to dip in my pinks and purples. I used a purple shadow from MAC...totally forgot the name but I remember it was from the Starflash launch. The light pink used was MAC's Mink Pink. If you have any questions regarding products used, ask me!

Below is an interview that I was a part of for my brother's friend, Brandy. She had to interview someone in the field she'd like to get into and she chose me! I felt so special and was so happy to do it! It really got my thinking about why I do what I do and rectified (RECT-ified..hehe) my reasons for doing makeup. Read all about it!

1. How did you get into make-up artistry?

- I was always interested in the technique and art behind makeup so I applied at MAC. I didn't get it the first time and tried at a different location and was hired on the spot.

2. Would you say working behind-the-counter is just as knowledgeable as going to a make-up school?

- I can't really say because I didn't go to makeup school but the training I received was amazing. The company I worked for paid lots of money for our extensive trainings and certifications. But the thing you have to remember is behind-the-counter makeup is different from makeup artistry because when you work for a counter, you only know of YOUR own product. So you are oblivious to other brands and types.

3. Why make-up?

-Makeup for me is great because it allows me to express myself in ways I cannot in an office. I have my 8-4PM job and makeup let's me tap into more of a creative side. I love how it makes my clients look and feel. I've never had a person get out of my chair and not feel beautiful. It brings a sense of confidence out of people even if it's just mascara and a gloss.

4. How long have you worked in this field? Did you hold any other positions while working in this field?

- I've been doing makeup for about 7 years now! It started my senior year in high school. My cheer squad and I were in a competition and I gave everyone a smokey eye and red lip! I work for a corporate company in SF now and freelance.

5. Would you say you have your own style when it comes to being a make-up artist? If so, how would you describe it?

- I guess you can say that I love softer more blended looks. I love colors that bring features out but editorial looks are always fun to do too. It really depends on what my client expects out of me. My style is to please the client or photographer. Don't get me wrong, I love a electric teal eye shadow just like everyone else, but I think there's a time and a place for that.

6. What skill sets are necessary in your opinion to

succeed in this career?

- I think you need to be the type of person to work well under pressure. Imagine having 30 minutes to get a bride ready! Multi tasking is another good trait to have as well because you'll find yourself moving 150 mph. You definately have to have a friendly approach as well. Clients want you to be honest and not tell them everything looks great when it really doesn't. You want to make them feel you can be trusted. After all, you are in their face!

7. What are key characteristics of successful people in this industry?

- Theres one artist that I've been following and that's Eve Pearl. She does makeup various tv shows and has her own makeup line. I've taken a lecture class with her and she talks about how she never stopped and how her passion kept her going. You just have to want it and know that if you work hard enough, you could be really successful! Another thing is listening. You need to listen to your clients needs and wants.

8. What is a typical day of work for you?

-When I am working with a client, it's pretty much hauling my kit full of great products and making people feel beautiful!

9. How secure is this field?

- If you're a freelancer like myself, it's not very secure at all. People these days don't have the money to pay for the services. There are peak times like wedding, prom, and holiday seasons but nothing is guranteed unless youre getting paid by a retailer.

10. How competitive is this field? How could I prepare and/or get an edge on others?

- This field is pretty competitive because there are so many aspiring makeup artists. You need to be ahead of the curve at all times and make sure you know of different products out there. From high end to low end products, there are a lot of great tools out there for all clients. You can get ahead by doing your homework and knowing of different techniques for different shapes and colors of faces. Start building your kit with the essentials you'd use on your clients. Beauty blogs and forums are a great way to learn techniques and products.

11. What are some of the pitfalls of this profession? What about the perks?

- Some of the pitfalls are that the work isn't constant, sometimes you get picky clients, and some people don't take us too seriously. They don't see the need for someone like me. Some perks are that I get to work on my own time and write my own schedule.

12. What keeps you motivated when doing your job?

- Not many people can say that the do what they love. I love making people feel great and making people smile. I love how makeup can be so innovative but also so simple and classic. Makeup trends are always changing just like fashion.

13. What is your favorite part about being a make-up artist?

- I love making people feel special for their special occasions. It's really rewarding and an honor to be a part of people's big days.

14.Do you have any inspirations when it comes to doing make-up?

- Pat mcgrath, Eve Pearl, MAC senior artist Victor C. (whom I've had the pleasure of working with), and anyone else who is innovative, isn't afraid to take risks, and loves what they do.

15. What kind of salary could I expect as an entry-level?

- It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. If you freelance on your own, you become your own boss and determine how much you will make. I'd recommend starting at a counter to get more product knowledge and learn how to deal with clients.

16. Is there someone else you could recommend I contact?

- I'd look out for beauty bloggers and youtubers. Makeupbyrenren has become one of my good makeup freelancing friends and she has a popular channel on YouTube.

17. In what direction do you see this field going in five to ten years?

- There is always a demand for makeup. People will always be looking for a better product and new things. It will definately always be booming.

18. Would you recommend this profession?

- If you have a passion for it, then o highly recommend it!

19. Any advice to aspiring make-up artists?

- No matter how discouraged you get, don't give up. There have been times where I wanted to give it up for a lack of clients. I just thought about how much I loved doing what I do and it kept me going. Market yourself and put yourself out there even if it's for free at first. Your going to do a LOT of free makeup before you get paying clients. Go on craigslist and look for aspiring photographers to work with. Build relationships and networking is a big thing in our industry as well.

Halloween Celebration!

Hey everyone! How was everyone's Halloween? Cool it was on a Saturday huh? The baby had a GREAT time and had a lot of candy. It was a catch 22 cuz I wanted him to stay up for the family festivities, but he stayed up forever! It was a very memorable one with the baby especially...he went to a total of TWO houses! LOL!

Here is the baby's costume. He was our beloved San Francisco Giant's pitcher, Tim Lincecum!

What's cool about his costume is that Lincecum is half Filipino and half White. His dad is white and his mommy is pinay. HAAAAAAY! Just perfect, right?! I had to sew a few tracks into a terry cloth headband then sew the headband into his hat. He didn't seem to mind the hair too much except for when it tickled his neck. LOL. His pants were made by my dress maker and the jersey is from the Giant's store. We got it printed with "Lincecum" and "55" on the back.

Here's Mommy's costume and makeup. This was actually for a costume party the weekend before Halloween. I meant to go as a Fafinette but heard that another girl was planning on being one so I opted out. I HATE matching other's costumes! This was SUPER last minute. For the leopard spots, I used MAC's Blacktrack fluidline with a #209 brush and MAC's Liquidlast liner in Molten Sol. It stayed on really well and I actually woke up with a lot of the liner still on..EW.

Happy Wednesday! I'm feeling a bit tired this morning but I need to change my attitude QUICKLY if I want to get through this day! 25th High School Reunion Makeup

Smokey Blue Grey Look

Makeup is a preference. People wear it to feel better about themselves so that they can tackle whatever it is that they need to. You don't need much; just enough to let your natural features shine through. When I remember to take "before" pictures, it always amazes me at how far a little foundation and concealer goes. My trainer always bugs me about smearing foundation residue on my shirts when I work out and asks me, "Why do you wear foundation?" I always tell him, "It's kinda like a habit and it makes my skin look good." Men especially, will never understand.

With that said, I wanted to show you guys a look I did for a birthday girl. Eva finally turned 18 and was having a big BBQ at her house with family and friends. We did a smokey eye and a pale pink lippie. The lips are freaking AMAZING and I can't believe I'd never tried that combo before!

It's just another manic monday..I wish it was sunday..cuz that's my fun day..my I don't have to run day! If you are a product of the 80's you'd totally get that reference. That was on repeat at my 80's party..LOL. Anywho...I wanted to share a look I did for my future-sis-in-laws birthday. She had invited us onto her party bus and while it seemed like tons of drunken fun, we weren't able to go. So I agreed that I'd be part of her Glam Squad and get her makeup done. Depotting Lippies!

Morning everyone! With a few big gigs coming up in the next couple of weeks, I've been busy organizing all of my makeup in my new set bag. One of the tasks I have taken on is the depotting of my lippies! I didn't realize that I had sooooo many until it was time to sort them out into 12's. I have enough for the 4 palettes I purchased....that's 48 lippies! That doesn't include the lippies I chose to leave for myself. I organized them in the following categories: Reds/Berries, Pinks, Nudes, and Nudes/Browns. I've only gotten two palettes done because the eBayer I purchased had to ship out all 4 seperately from Hong Kong and I've only gotten the 2 so far :( If I don't get them by today, this seller will be getting negative feedback!

Anywho, I got this genius idea from the fabulous Jaimie of Just Kiss N Makeup. You can find her post here. It was a freaking awesome idea and was super simple so I thought why not? Looking for lippies in your kit can be tiresome and annoying when you have over 50 tubes rolling around. Anything to make your job easier is a plus and your client will thank you for it later.

What I Used:
-Spatula
-Microwave

How to:
-First you want to chop what you can off of the lipstick and into the little jar.
-Then, take you spatula or whatever you are using and scrap the rest of the lippie out of the tube. There will be quite a lot in there! You'd be suprised.
-I peeled off the labels on the bottom of the lippies and stuck them on the corresponding jars.
-Then, I microwaved my lippies for about 40 seconds until they were completely liquified.
-Wait for them to dry, then I put the caps back on and I was good to go!

I found that the mattes were the hardest and chalkiest to deal with. Ruby Woo was all kinds of flaky and didn't want to melt in the microwave. I'm very pleased with the outcome and hope the other two palettes come in today so I can have them ready for the quince I have tomorrow. Plus, Back 2 MAC is calling my name! I NEED to replace so many of my shadows!

Hey everyone! I wanted to bring something very scandalous to your attention. I've heard about this before, but seeing it in person was something else! I've heard of counterfeit makeup and have even seen a few auctions for fake MAC, NARS, etc. on eBay. I never knew people went this far!

I went to a local flea market on Sunday to look for vintage goods for the wedding and I came across this:

The packaging is WAY off and the colors don't even have names! They were all numbered. Check out those palettes, soooooooo fake! Being an ex-MAC employee, I was a bit taken back by this sight. If it isn't from a noted store, you shouldn't get it! I didn't inquire about this lady's prices but she was telling the other women there that it was all real. I also remember women coming into our counter asking if they could return these items. It was hard to tell them that they were fakes. They had like 8 different shades of Hello Kitty gloss for crying out loud. The packaging was off, the shadows were chalky as heck, and they even had little Hello Kitty "makeup removers." That wasn't even launched! lol. RANT OVER.

Kim Kardashian Look #3:

Another Monday folks! Another Kim Kardashian look to do too! This was a look I did a couple of weeks ago. I've gotten a couple of requests to do this look and so I finally decided to give it a go. This is definately the darkest smokey eye I've worn and it was very well received. In order for the eye to be sooooo black, I used MAC's Engraved liver as my base on my lid and then packed NYX's Black e/s on top of it. If I had MAC's Blackground PP, I would've used that but they are always sold out when I try and get one. Grrr... If you look closely at my version, it got a bit creasey on one eye because of the eyeliner.

Levi's Campaign Photoshoot

It's Friday! We've done it again! I wanted to share a look I did for Anna. We both had the great opportunity to be in a photoshoot for one of my good friends from high school, Ian Maxion. I hope to work with him again soon.

Anna has beautiful skin and ice blue eyes. I really wanted the blue to really pop so I did a copper eye. The focus is soley her eyes so I thickened the liner up and put some very full lashes on her. I love how it turned out.

I love the part about possessing humility. I think that is what makes us human. More than often, we look at these celebrity creatures and think that they are "perfect" and almost kill ourselves striving for that excellence. We are too afraid to ask for help, because we think that "we're it." Beauty is something that you need to feel inside and truly believe it. I truly think I'm beautiful in my own way. Sure, I'd love to have a Kim K body, but I think I've gotten by with what I've got just fine :)

New Series:Kim Kardashian Makeup

It's a new week my loves and a new week brings us a new series! Kim Kardashian is no stranger to looking flawless and her makeup is always gorgeous. She and her makeup artist both have blogs that I follow and her looks are always different and she isn't afraid to take risks. She's no stranger to dramatic lashes and eyes and I love that about her. This was the look she wore to the Grammy's. It's a bit more toned down than what she normally wears but I think she looks so beautiful and almost angelic. She has a super frosty champagne color on the lid with a warm toned medium brown in the crease. Her lashes are also uber dramatic and her blush is very sun-kissed. I love how she kept it neutral on her volumptuous lips. She can do no wrong in my eyes!

80's Makeup

Happy hump day ya'll! This post is dedicated to all of those who were thriving in the 1980's. I'm an 80's baby all the way! I wanted to share the look I wore on my birthday for my 80's party. It was soooo much fun to listen to my 80's playlist all night and dance. Pat Bennetar, Run DMC, Grand Master Flash, Digital Underground, Prince, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, and so many more were on constant play while I danced like Molly Ringwald. I did a lot of research on styles of makeup and fashion before actually finding my awesome dress at a thrift store for $9! It started as a longer dress but I cut it because I looked too frumpy in it. Trademark Violation or No?

Hey guys! I just wanted to get your input on something. So as you all know I have another personal blog which is ProjectHealthyBride.blogspot.com. I was contacted by the founder of thehealthybride.com (didn't even know it existed) and was asked to change my domain name because I was in violation of their trademark. She also said that having the word "project" in my title wasn't a good enough difference and that I was still in violation.

Here's what really grinds my gears here. First of all, she said, "my hopes are that we can get this resolved without getting lawyers involved." Is it THAT serious? I think it was an intimidation factor. My site begins with "project" and ends with "blogspot.com." Therefore, BLOGGER (Google) owns it, not me. I think I may contact Blogger and see what they say. It would be like Delta Dental suing Delta Airlines. Also, the exercisetv I use is on Exercisetv.tv and there is also an Exercisetv.com. Why can't we coexist?

The person who hates confrontation in me is telling me to just change it. But the fighter in me wants to get my research together and fight for my domain name. I make NO PROFIT off of my PERSONAL blog and I think I should be able to keep it. Did this person buy up the rights to MY domain name? I don't think so. Mine isn't a .COM and I don't think her arguement has any merit. What do you think?

EDIT: My freaking awesome fiance came up with the most GENIUS name ever! You can now find me at ProjectHealthierBride.blogspot.com! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thank you guys for getting all fired up for me but I think we won in the end! SCORE!
